Liz Aggiss is a performer, choreographer, dance film-maker and Emeritus Professor at the University of Brighton. She studied in New York with Hanya Holm, and at the Nikolais/Louis Dance Theatre Lab. and in London with Hilde Holger.
She has toured her live and screen work nationally and internationally since 1980, received the Bonnie Bird Choreography Award 1994 and an Arts Council Dance Fellowship in 2003. She has received numerous awards for her films the most recent of which, Beach Party Animal made with Joe Murray, was commissioned by South East Dance (2011).
A book and three hour DVD published by Routledge is a visual and textual record of her live and screen dance work. With Charlotte Vincent she created Double Vision, just followed up with Blurred Vision, and is working towards a new piece, 60 things to do at 60 for 2013. Liz is an Associate Artist of The Basement, Brighton.
